About the Instructor
Born 1940, Tagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. He began studying various martial arts, starting with karate at the age of 12. Between 1985 and 1990, fought with the Afghan guerrilla 'mujahidin' against the former Soviet forces, He was hailed by journalists around the world as an 'Afghan Samurai'. In 1991, he succeeded as the second head of the Soke of the Fuji-ryu Taijutsu. In 2009, he took on a new name, Hiko-ryu, in order to transmit and preserve his own martial art and spirit.
